Druex started school today, he was so excited! Well its not actual school, more like day care but he gets to play with other kids, work on projects, go on field trips, and most importantly I get to go to work without worrying about him. So, my day: got Druex ready, took him to school, picked up breakfast for Lisa, met her at the office, a slow day, paperwork, calls, setting up appointments, left around 4, picked Druex up and went shopping for dinner. We were going to make homemade pizza and whatever dessert catches our eye at the grocery store. First day of work and school calls for a celebration!
Now we’ve been shopping at the Whole Foods down the street since we moved, and everyone has always been really friendly but today someone really drew my attention. I remember his mom from before Druex was born, she was always nice with me, an honest, outspoken lady, one of my favorite people there. And for the past week her son Tai has been very attentive with me, he’s cute too. He usually helps me with my groceries, if he can, or Terrance helps he. I’ve gone through his line a couple of times, he’s playful with Druex too. He seems like a really good guy, mostly because I know his mother is a wonderful woman, who knows. We’ll see what happens. The most important man in my life will always be my little Andruex Nathaniel.

Great party, yummy dinner, nice enough company. We had over some of the people we are going to be working with. The collaboration between the two publications seems like it’s going to be a success. Beautiful models too, which means I need to get on a work out plan so I don’t look absurdly obese next to them. Let’s not forget the handsome men, looks like sunny LA means muscular, sun-kissed boys.

We’re having a dinner party today, well Lisa is. But either way its one of my favorite things to do, so I’m excited! The occasion this time is welcoming Lisa to LA, and yes that means we will be living here for a while. Although I miss and will always love New York, Los Angeles has always been a nice change, we’ve never been here for more than a couple of weeks though. Wow! The last time was when I was still pregnant! Anyway, a sunny city is an exciting change, especially for Druex, he loves the beach. Let’s not forget, another gorgeous home. I can never get used to the exquisite rooms I have had the luxury of living in.
This time we are at “The Palazzo,” it is a gated community of elegant condos, ours (Lisa’s actually, hahaha) has its own private backyard with pool and jacuzzi. High ceilings, gilded accents, shimmering chandeliers as if they were made of pure diamonds, how could I not love it here. As you come in you find yourself in front of an extended lobby-like area with a stairwell on the right side and coat closets on the left. The stairwell has gold handrails all along It’s spiraling length, which leads to an open office space to the right of which is the master bedroom, Lisa’s of course, with its own bathroom and enormous walk in closet. Down the hall, to the left of the “work area,” across from it actually is a small living room which my baby gets to have as his play area so me or Lisa can watch him, but down the hall is my room and Druex’s room. Mine is the end of the hall, Druex’s is on the right, our shared bathroom on the left. But back downstairs now. Walking past the stairs on the far right is the kitchen with an island counter, sharing a wall is the dining room with a table for 8 and glass covered wine cellar. Next room is the living room, a squared sectional, a smaller love seat, a 52 inch flat screen, and a bar area in the back.
We settled in a couple of days ago and have been working out our schedules, I’ve been looking at schools, sitters, etc for Druex, Lisa and I will start everyday work on Tuesday, at the InStyle offices somewhere in Westwood. So for now we have a party to put together, well me, but Lisa’s doing her things, phone calls, meetings…
Okay, so today I’m going grocery shopping with Druex, the Whole Foods is just down the block! I remember I used to shop there with my belly, the ladies there were always so nice to me. 🙂 Anywho, got some shopping, cooking, and entertaining to do. Toodooloo!

Felt good to be able to stay in bed a little longer. This week really wore me out, but hopefully we are all set with our schedules, running around in hot weather is not fun. Today was though. Lisa, Druex, and I had a wonderful day of swimming, playing in the sand, and tanning. I am happy to say I am a few shades darker and exhausted. Druex never runs out of energy! My hair is glistening like a mermaids because my little boy decided we should have a sand fight and he just happens to have won, I do like the sandy hair though, Lisa does too, she also played.
On another note, we had a late lunch-early dinner at Whole Foods. Tai was there. Lisa noticed a “connection” between him and I. Although he was busy with other customers, Druex saw him and said Hi, so he stopped and said Hello, asked how we were doing. We went though, I’m guessing his friend, Joanne’s line. She’s such a funny, wild girl! She was teasing Tai across the lanes and told us he’s a really good guy.
Lisa and I were talking about him and Druex and Jon. She says I should date, that Druex could use a father-figure. But I don’t know, since Jon I’ve been so skeptical about men. I don’t even put myself in situations to meet anyone, my life really only consists of Druex and work. Maybe I should try to have a social life for myself, I don’t think I could ever get involved with someone in the industry again.
So many thought, its getting late… Toodooloo
